Dulles Corner Park

Dulles Corner Park, located in Fairfax County, Virginia, comprises four commercial office buildings centered around a lush outdoor area that includes koi ponds, walking paths, as well as lounges and meeting spaces. Alongside a robust landscaping and architectural refresh, Brandywine Realty Trust retained Spaeth Hill to redesign the existing exterior signage program to include monument signs and a new directional wayfinding signage system, including the multi-level parking garages.

In our design approach, we drew inspiration from the materials used for the revitalization of the landscape to develop our palette. We clad all signs within the system in slate and connected the signs to the ground using the same stone veneer within the updated landscape. These materials enhanced the natural elements around the signs, maintaining the park’s lush backdrop as the main focus.

The scope of services also included the development of a Comprehensive Sign Plan (Amendment) for the property. This effort required us to forecast all of the campus’ current and future signage requirements as far as 10 years out. For such an undertaking, it was critical that we facilitated initial discussions with each and every property stakeholder.
