Illicit Trade
The World Bank approached Spaeth Hill to layout and design a report for an international campaign that fights illegal tobacco trading. The “Confronting Illicit Tobacco Trade” report compiles over 700 pages of vital data tracking international progress in eliminating tobacco use. Due to the sheer volume of the report, it was vital that the design was well-paced, remained engaging across each and every spread and gave each region importance.
The report starts off with a rich grey cover denoting the stark effect of the tobacco trade. Inside we use large and expressive text treatments, bold data visualizations and impactful photography using a wide spectrum of colors associated with each country’s region. All of these elements work together in the design solution to help highlight key information, covering a full range of problems being addressed in this international initiative.
